Sunday night I had just returned from a girls weekend* and was reading bedtime stories to the boys. Hobbes walked in the room and Nicholas said to him, “Hobbes, I have good news — Mommy’s home!” Then he said, “Hobbes, I have bad news — Calvin died.” **
